NYC Voter Assistance Advisory Committee Hearing on December 5th

The New York City Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, December 5th. NYC Votes and the VAAC invite New York City voters to share their experiences voting in the 2018 general election held on November 6, 2018. Voters who reported problems at their polls sites or who wish to offer ways to improve New York's voting system are invited to testify.

The meeting will take place from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Joseph A. O'Hare, S.J. Board Room of the CFB's office in Lower Manhattan, at 100 Church Street, on the 12th Floor. The event is free and open to the public. We ask that all attendees RSVP. Any media interested in attending the hearing should send an email to press@nyccfb.info.

VAAC consists of nine members who advise the CFB on its voter engagement efforts and recommends legislative and administrative changes to improve NYC elections. VAAC Members include Chair Naomi Zauder, Daniele Gerard, Joan Gibbs, New York City Public Advocate Letitia James, New York City Board of Elections Executive Director Michael Ryan, Arnaldo Segarra, and Mazeda Akter Uddin.

NYC Votes is the nonpartisan voter engagement initiative of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) and its Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC). In addition to promoting voter registration, participation, and civic engagement in New York City through its many programs and partnerships, NYC Votes sponsors the city’s official Debate Program and produces the citywide Voter Guide.
