1. What is the most important issue in Council District 3 you would address if elected?
The single most important issue that I've worked hard to address and would continue to is neighborhood preservation--which means stopping irresponsible development, fiercely protecting parks, playgrounds and green space, and preserving and expanding affordable housing. For everyone who calls it home, we've got to keep our neighborhoods affordable and protect all the qualities that make it special.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
We need to continue to do more to improve our schools, relieve overcrowding, and expand access to full-day pre-kindergarten--which I've made a priority. Protect tenants and strengthen our rent laws. Make our streets even safer and address quality-of-life crimes like disruptive noise. Enhance public transportation. Help neighborhood businesses. Aggressively protect vital services from budget cuts--from senior programs to our local libraries to HIV/AIDS services. Continue leading the fight for marriage equality in New York State.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
I've worked hard to get results for our neighborhoods, find progressive solutions to pressing problems, and make sure government is there for those who need help most. From stopping the West Side stadium to creating more affordable housing to ending smoking in bars and restaurants to protecting women's reproductive rights to saving senior centers and helping thousands of hungry New Yorkers get food stamps, you can learn a lot more about these and other issues at Quinn09.com. On September 15th, I hope I can count on your support.
