1. What is the most important issue in Council District 12 you would address if elected?

Since 2002, I have secured over $42 Million in funding for schools. This includes funds for school libraries (new and renovated), as well as funding for new school computers and playgrounds.

I have advocated on behalf of and coordinated the Council's "Jobs to Build On" Initiative to address the high unemployment of African Americans and Latinos. The Council allocated $20 Million to this program, to examine job opportunities in the trades, health care and the automotive industries.

Senior centers within my district have been provided operational funds for recreational programs and capital dollars, to purchase senior center vans. Lastly, I have worked collaboratively with my colleagues and the district's faith-based institutions to secure funding and develop substantive plans to build affordable housing.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

N/A

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

My demonstrated track record has enabled me to deliver millions of dollars to support and safeguard meaningful community programs.

I serve on several committees of importance to district residents. Some of these committees include Land Use; Sanitation; Transportation; Civil Service & Labor; Higher Education; Chairman, Civil Rights; and the Council's Budget Negotiation Team.

I thank all of the residents of the 12th Council District for the privilege to serve them.
