1. What is the most important issue in Council District 14 you would address if elected?

Our community has one of the most overcrowded school district and among the lowest graduation rates in the City. The problem created by the shortage of classroom space is exacerbated by a lack of sufficient computer labs and technology friendly libraries. We need more skilled teachers and after school programs for our children.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

We don't have enough affordable housing. More jobs with fair wages are a priority. We need to bring more health services for our senior citizens. This area is notorious for for one of the highest crime rates in the city, dirty streets overrun by drug dealers, a lack of open spaces a lack of youth services and poor transportation options. All of these issues can be addressed with effective leadership.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

Through my work in the community, the educational system and the church, I have seen first hand how effective leadership can bring solutions to problems. By showing up and working hard, I am presently leading an innovative joint venture to create new affordable and environmentally friendly housing and community space. By showing up and working hard, I have led a congregation who has brought about community action against violence, youth leadership programs, and free drug rehabilitation services and support groups. I will work diligently in the City Council to bring the necessary resources to tackle our problems.
