1. What is the most important issue in Council District 26 you would address if elected?
Government's first priority should be improving working people's lives. I will fight to strengthen our education system and libraries, so everyone in our community will have a safe place to learn and access to the resources they need for their job and family. During these tough economic times, the city must also do more to create good employment, protect affordable housing, keep us safe and meet the needs of senior citizens. My office will be a place where everyone can get the assistance they deserve.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
Too often, the city government ignores or delays action on quality-of-life issues that are important to residents of the 26th District. I will make removing graffiti, picking up downed trees, stopping illegal truck traffic, expanding green spaces and improving mass transit top priorities.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
Growing up, my family didn't have much but we had what truly mattered: love, a commitment to education and hope for a better future. Working for government reform and for stronger libraries, I have devoted my career to making our community stronger and building a better future for Queens families like the one I was raised in. You can count on me to stand up to landlords, developers and political insiders, and to work hard for our children's future and our quality of life.
