1. What is the most important issue in Council District 32 you would address if elected?
The economy and high taxes, fees and tolls are squeezing middle class families out of our neighborhoods and undermining our quality of life. The City needs to understand that they can't keep demanding more taxes and higher bridge tolls instead of controlling spending. In these tough times, the Council needs to focus on easing the burden on middle class families who are struggling to get by. That means lowering property taxes, eliminating unfair bridge tolls, and working to restore the economy and bring back good jobs.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
When times are tough, we need to stand firm in our refusal to cutting important things like funding for our schools and libraries or services for our seniors. In these times, more seniors need these services, and a good education is the key to a stronger future. But we also need to protect our quality of life. I grew up here and chose to raise my family here because I believe that we live in the best part of the entire city. We need to keep our community the great place it is to live and raise a family.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
Experience. For the past 25 years I have dedicated my life to serving our community, and I've learned what it takes to get things done. As an outspoken advocate for our neighborhoods, I've spent years working for better schools for our children, keeping our parks beautiful and protecting our quality of life. Elected officials need to remember that they are in office to serve their community and be advocates for their constituents. Because of my experience in public service and my record of delivering results, I am proud to be endorsed by Senator Joseph Addabbo and Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer, and like them, I promise to be an inexhaustible defender of the community and a voice for all of my constituents.
