1. What is the most important issue in the city you would address if elected?
Today millions are being thrown out of work as the capitalist rulers seek to make working people pay for the crisis of their system. The ruling class is launching a frontal assault on our basic living conditions, from jobs and wages to pensions, health care, housing and essential services.
Working people need to answer these attacks. Only through a working class revolution to take power out of the hands of the exploiters and war makers can we then begin to reorganize the economy and all social relations, from top to bottom, in the interests of workers and farmers.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
World capitalism has entered into a depression that is part of the deepest social and economic crisis in living memory. The U.S. ruling-class families are expanding their wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan. At the same time 134,000 U.S. troops remain in Iraq. Under the cover of the "war on terror," the U.S. government is expanding police wiretapping against organizations and individuals as well as other assaults on workers rights.
We demand the immediate, unconditional withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
My campaign is part of the struggles of working people, which include:
Raising the minimum wage to union scale.
Nationalization of the land and housing stock to guarantee working people inexpensive and quality housing without fear of eviction by a landlord or foreclosure by a bank.
The right of women to choose abortion.
Ending all income taxes on workers.
