Council District #31 Special Election
On February 19th, there will be a nonpartisan special election in Council District 31 (Queens). Voters in Arverne, Bayswater, Edgemere, Far Rockaway, Laurelton, Rosedale, and Springfield Gardens will elect a new Council member to represent the district through the end of 2013.
As we come together to rebuild after Hurricane Sandy, the question is not "will you vote?" but "can you afford not to?" Your vote has an impact. You may choose to cast a vote for better schools, for safer streets, for better jobs. For our city’s recovery. No matter the reason, your vote counts. The decision is in your hands. NYC Votes! wants to make sure you're ready to cast your ballot on February 19th.
Below is the list of candidates running in the special election at press time. Please note that the ballot has not yet been finalized, and some of these candidates may be removed from the ballot between now and February 19th.
