Guide to the Federal Primary Election – Tuesday, June 28, 2016
On Tuesday, June 28th, registered members of the Democratic and Reform parties will vote in the federal primary. Learn about the candidates who will be on the ballot.
These are closed primaries, which means you must be a member of the political party and you must have enrolled in that party by the deadline to be eligible to vote in that party’s primary. (Not sure if you’re enrolled in a party? Check here.)
The Campaign Finance Board has partnered with MapLight to bring you information about the candidates in these races through its Voter’s Edge NY online voter guide. MapLight is a nonpartisan research organization that reveals money’s influence on politics, and Voter’s Edge was initially launched to shine a light on the funders behind ballot measures in California. It has since expanded to provide comprehensive coverage on federal, state, and local elections in California, Illinois, and New York.

Upcoming Election Deadlines
| June 21 | Last date of postmark for mail-in absentee ballot or military/special federal ballot applications for the federal primary. Last date for a board of elections to receive military/special federal ballot applications for the federal primary (if previously registered). |
| June 27 | Last date of postmark for mail-in absentee and military/special federal ballots for the federal primary. In-person absentee/military ballot application deadline for the federal primary. |
| June 28 | Federal Primary — polls open 6 am to 9 pm. (Find your poll site.) In-person absentee ballot delivery deadline (to your borough office by close of polls). |
