1. What is the most important issue in Council District 28 you would address if elected?
One of the most important issues that impede the growth of Council District 28 is the lack of sustainable and long term economic development. The absence of sufficient economic engines in the area serves as a feeder for other social issues which are regular sources of frustration for the community. It is my firm belief that by addressing the void of economic development projects for the district the residual benefit would result in a decrease in crime, increase in housing and an overall enhancement to the quality of life enjoyed by the community.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
The need to expand youth, senior and cultural programs. The expansion of these programs are not necessarily only predicated on the expanding of funding as much as cooperation is needed to generate partnerships that work.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
My life and history in this community have made me sensitive to the issues facing it. I have a vested interest with the proven ability to unite all ethnicities, ages, religious and economic backgrounds. I have stood on the front lines fighting to ensure veterans rights, our community's right to adequate healthcare as well as protecting our most vulnerable segments of our population, women, youth and seniors. We have suffered years of a lack of leadership and vision, now we move forward to A Better Way.
