Based on preliminary results of the September 15th primary election, no candidate in the Democratic primaries for Public Advocate or Comptroller received 40% of the vote, which means a runoff election between the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes is planned for September 29, 2009.
Only voters registered in the Democratic Party will be eligible to vote in this runoff election.
