Based on unofficial results of the September 10th primary election, no candidate in the Democratic primary for Public Advocate received 40% of the vote. A runoff between the two candidates who received the highest number of votes is expected to be held on Tuesday October 1, 2013. The winner of this runoff will move on to the General Election on November 5th as the Democratic Party nominee.
