1. What is the most important issue in Council District 28 you would address if elected?
Bring economic development and JOBS to our community. Help small business owners with lower taxes and assistants to get loans. Focus on education and job training; Improve quality of life and the environment; Create and develop after-school programs and maintain senior and cultural programs.
2. What other important issues would you address if elected?
The 28th district is culturally diverse. Immigration, affordable housing and building department issues are important concerns in our community. Many homeowners are facing foreclosure and are burdened with heavy taxes.
3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?
In these uncertain economic times, our community deserves a Council Member who is EDUCATED, has HIGH INTEGRITY and EXPERIENCE. One who knows his way around City Hall, one who will be ready from day one to assume the enormous mantle of leadership and responsibility. This person is Allan Jennings. Allan Jennings has a proven history of funding our schools, after-school and athletic programs. He held yearly job fairs at York College which resulted in hundreds of jobs for our constituents. He provided $7.5 million dollars for laptop computers for every child in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades in our district schools. Allan Jennings also took exceptional care of our seniors by funding every senior center in the district. Finally and most importantly, he has sponsored and passed into law many important bills benefiting our city; specifically Intro. 142 which prohibits racial and ethnic profiling by law enforcement. Allan Jennings is a tireless worker whose District Office was famous for its late hours and its precise way it always served the community. There is only one clear choice for the 28th Council District; This choice is someone who is educated, has high integrity and experience and the history of helping our Community.
